A house without a male has no voice in the village, it remains silent. I couldn't go to school. I had to work in the fields and feed the family. I had a brother, but he was let off. I had to support him and work instead of him. I promised my father on his deathbed that I would never leave my brother. There was no alternative for me but to live as a Burrnesha. I was responsible for the family. They were dependent on me and waited for me to bring them something to eat. But as I got older I fell out with my brother, I didn't like the way he treated his wife. I deserted him and moved to my sister. Her children became my children and my sister's family still look after me today.
