Being a Burrnesha means to work in the fields, to take care of the animals and to do all the work a man does. It's easier to live as a man than as a woman. No one can tell you what to do. I wanted to be independent and although I had many siblings, it never occurred to me to leave my family. It is customary to marry one after the other in the family, in the same order as you were born. You can't get married before your older brother or sister. When it was my turn, my siblings urged me to finally get married. I told them very clearly: I'm not getting married. If you wait for me, you'll stay unmarried. At some point, they gave up and minded their own business. People in the village talk, but I'm not interested in that. I love dancing, partying and traveling, nobody tells me what to do.
