When I was a child, my dream was to become a soccer player. Every day I played outside with the children in the village. We didn't have a ball, so I took some old shirts wrapped them into one. My mother often scolded and cursed me for it. My father was a teacher and knew all the medicinal plants in the area, he taught me everything. When he died, I wanted to support my mother and also be the breadwinner for the family. For a while, I helped the local nuns, who came from Italy, in the church. That's how I learned to speak Italian fluently. They wanted to take me into their order, but I decided to stay with my mother and help my siblings so that they wouldn't have as hard a time as I did. At some point, the people in the village called me 'Burrnesha', which is what they call women who are particularly strong.
